MRWho is a supplement to DRNO, subtitled 'People and Skills in Market Research', and looking at recruitment, training, salaries and benefits, loyalty, teambuilding and all other aspects of human resources for the MR profession. It's published every month or two.

MAY '07 Edition - MR On The Line: Eight senior members of the profession form our panel to answer the key questions:

1. Few people think online research will wipe out 'traditional' data collection altogether - but if online continues to gain market share rapidly, will research based on telephone and face-to-face methods become a niche?

2. The industry is still full of people who are expert in traditional methods, and will be for some time - enough to service a shrinking or scarcely-growing traditional research market. So will all or virtually all new entrants to the profession be online researchers?

This month's 'Skills and Trends' article begins a two-issue look at staff motivation ideas in UK agencies - this month, everything from visiting masseurs to football teams to evening classes and bingo, to company skiing holidays. Love'n'Hate talks to two financial researchers and finds one who thinks it's right on the money and another with a distinct lack of interest. There are more excerpts from our EarPiece podcast newsmaker interviews, an upside-down look at Sunday interviewing in Aus, and the usual careers features - training diary, senior level personnel news and vacancies plus two pages of international jobs.

MRWho has about 900 subscribers including a majority of the bosses of major UK agencies and around 320 blue chip clientside researchers. It's free and comes in a .pdf format so most people print it out, although you can read it on-screen if you prefer. Most editions are available for download from this site (see bottom right) - you'll need a password and for this you'll need to subscribe. If you'd like to, just email us and say so, giving us your email address (and those of anyone else there who wants it), your JobTitle(s) and the name of your company, and whether you just want passwords to download previous editions or if [like 90% plus] you wish to receive forthcoming issues too. The company and JT will only be used for our own stats, ie so we can give advertisers general information about the types of people reading it - and for our own analysis / edification. Re confidentiality of this: we are MRS members and we/you know the drill!

If you're not in an HR function and you think your company's personnel or training people would be interested, please let them know - there is no limit to the number of subscribers per company, of course.
